Oceanography is a very interesting topic of study as there are scopes of adventure and thrill in this job along with a good pay scale. They are trained on physical biological, chemical and geological aspects of ocean. The candidates are taken to the ocean for training and they are provided practical training. Oceanography is a very interesting subject as the candidates are given complete knowledge about the behavior of the oceanic plates in respect to its geography in past and present and their influence on marine lives.

The Oceanography experts are employed in places like the mining of sea resources and assistance in oceanic behavior analysis. They are also providing assistance in marine life extraction as well as preservation. They have worldwide job opportunities as they are employed by shipping corporations and research teams.

An Oceanography expert generally deals with distribution of organisms and minerals in the oceans, the physiological and behavioral responses of organisms to the abiotic and biotic environment, composition of seawater, physiochemical properties of seawater, distributions of gases, nutrients and trace metals, and effect of biological processes on seawater composition. The have good knowledge about the availability of various resources biotic and abiotic and hence they can apply their knowledge for the welfare of human civilization. They are paid well but there are lots of difficulties and instability in life. Hence none can pursue this career for lifetime.
