ISC Mathematics Papers

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, which conducts the examination, was established in 1958. The council was established as a non-profit organization and is fully dedicated to the promotion of literature, fine arts and science in the country.

The pattern for Mathematics exam of ISC class 12 is given below:

There is only one paper of duration 3 hours. The total marks for the exam are 100. The entire syllabus is divided in three sections. Out of the three sections, Section A is mandatory for every candidate. Candidates are given a choice to select questions from Section B or Section C.

Section A carries a total of 80 marks. This section consists of 9 questions. Question 1 is compulsory for all candidates. Candidates are required to answer any five out of the remaining eight questions.

Both sections B and C carry 20 marks. There are three questions in either of the sections. Candidates are required to answer any three out of either Section B or Section C.

The topics included in all these sections include the following:

Determinants and Matrices, Boolean Algebra, Pairs of straight lines, Conics, Inverse Trigonometric Function, Calculus, Measures of dispersion, Correlation and Regression, Probability , Complex Numbers, Differential Equations, Co-ordinate geometry in 3-Dimensions, Vectors, Probability , Discount , Annuities, Linear Programming, Application of derivatives in Commerce and Economics in the following :Cost function or marginal cost, revenue function and break even point, Index numbers and moving averages .
