How To Produce Your Own Internet TV Show

Starting your own TV show is the dream of millions – that’s why video podcasting has been a huge success. Some of these podcasts have become extremely popular and have gathered followings of hundreds of millions such as Ask a Ninja. However, what if you want to create your own Internet TV show?

Much of the same principles apply. You’ll still need the equipment such as sound, lighting and of course the camera. A blog to publicize and act as a base will be essential and a make-do studio to film the masterpiece will also be needed if the show is stationary. One crucial difference is how to get your content LIVE in the form of an Internet TV show.

Setting up the equipment

Most of us will have a digital camera around the house with a megapixel rating around the 5 or 6 mark. This is ideal for streaming a video as it’s good quality but not so good that it causes lag.

Connect your digital camera to your PC using the USB cable. Most cameras will have an inbuilt microphone which will be fine however, if possible connect a small microphone to the camera. The earphones that come with many cell phones have a microphone to pick up voice or indeed you can simply modify a headset by removing the ear pieces leaving just the microphone. By attaching this to your speaker(s) or having it in their proximity, background noise is reduced and their voice is clearer.

For lighting, use household lamps. Manouvere the lampshade so that the base is tilted towards the set as shown in the diagram, with the lamp always behind the camera. This will stop glare from showing up on the screen and it will also subtly light up the set. Having direct lighting on the set such as a lamp on a desk can cause a big white patch on the screen – especially if the camera is of a low quality.

Streaming Service

One of the best, if not the best video streaming service on the internet is Ustream.tv. Celebrities such as Ashton Kutcher use it to stream quick internet TV shows and broadcasts to their fans.

The reason why we’re using it in this demonstration as it is similar to the YouTube set up in that you can simply create an account and stream using their easy tools and you can embed the media player on your blog/site for your fans to enjoy.

First, simply go to the site and sign up. It takes a few minutes and once you do you’re ready to create your show. After signing up you’ll immediately be asked to ‘Name your show’. I simply entered MUO Test Show but I recommend thinking of something catchy that will be stuck in the minds of viewers.

After you have clicked ‘Create Show’ you’ll be brought to the ‘My Shows’ page where you can customize your show by adding a theme for your pages background, uploading a logo, entering a description and much more.

Also, as seen in the screenshot there is a tab called ‘Off Air Clips’. This will dictate what appears in your media player when the show is off air. You can tell it to play some of your old episodes or simply the most recent one. I suggest the latter as it will be more current and will have a better chance of hooking the viewer.

The ‘Schedule’ tab is where you should announce upcoming episodes and other events related to the show. By doing this you’ll inform subscribers and new visitors as to when you’ll be live next so they don’t miss out. Failure to schedule your performances will cause a major drop in viewer numbers simply because they won’t know when you’re on next!

To the right-hand side of the screen in the ‘My Shows’ tab there is a column entitled ‘Share Your Show’. Here you will find embedding HTML code and links so that you can embed your show on the official website, similar to the embed HTML found next to YouTube videos. Simply copy & paste this code into your blogs HTML editor to embed the video stream there.

3…2…1…LIVE!

Up in the top right hand corner of the screen there is a ‘Broadcast Now’ button. This will launch a popup that will be your HQ during broadcast.

Along with this popup, a small box seen here on the right will open requesting permission to access your AV equipment. Click ‘Allow’. Whoever is using the PC during broadcast has the job of making sure things go smoothly. This includes selecting the right AV sources (i.e. which camera and audio equipment to record from) as seen in the screenshot below.

You can also run polls, tweet, ask questions and add in Audio and Video overlaps either from YouTube or from uploaded videos to coincide with the program. When you’re ready to go live simply click ‘Start Broadcast’.

However, I also recommend clicking ‘Start Record’ as this will record your broadcast and enable it to be played while you’re off air as described above.

Below is my test show that I broadcasted which lasted for just a few seconds, containing the view from my bedroom window.

So that’s the tech side of things taken care of, whether or not your show is good is entirely up to the acting/broadcasting skills of those involved.

Blind People Dream


Who become blind after birth can see images in their dreams. People who are born blind do not see any images, but have dreams equally vivid involving their other senses of sound, smell, touch and emotion. It is hard for a seeing person to imagine, but the body need for sleep is so strong that it is able to handle virtually all physical situations to make it happen.



You Forget 90% of your Dreams

In a recent sleep study, students who were awakened at the beginning of each dream, but still allowed their 8 hours of sleep, all experienced difficulty in concentration, irritability, hallucinations, and signs of psychosis after only 3 days. When finally allowed their REM sleep the student brains made up for lost time by greatly increasing the percentage of sleep spent in the REM stage


We Only Dream of What We Know

Our dreams are frequently full of strangers who play out certain parts - did you know that your mind is not inventing those faces - they are real faces of real people that you have seen during your life but may not know or remember? The evil killer in your latest dream may be the guy who pumped petrol in to your Dad car when you were just a little kid. We have all seen hundreds of thousands of faces through our lives, so we have an endless supply of characters for our brain to utilize during our dreams.

Not Everyone Dreams in Color


A full 12% of sighted people dream exclusively in black and white. The remaining number dream in full color. People also tend to have common themes in dreams, which are situations relating to school, being chased, running slowly/in place, sexual experiences, falling, arriving too late, a person now alive being dead, teeth falling out, flying, failing an examination, or a car accident. It is unknown whether the impact of a dream relating to violence or death is more emotionally charged for a person who dreams in color than one who dreams in black and white


Dreams are not about what they are about



If you dream about some particular subject it is not often that the dream is about that. Dreams speak in a deeply symbolic language. The unconscious mind tries to compare your dream to something else, which is similar. Its like writing a poem and saying that a group of ants were like machines that never stop. But you would never compare something to itself, for example: That beautiful sunset was like a beautiful sunset. So whatever symbol your dream picks on it is most unlikely to be a symbol for itself.


Quitters have more vivid dreams

People who have smoked cigarettes for a long time who stop, have reported much more vivid dreams than they would normally experience. Additionally, according to the Journal of Abnormal Psychology: Among 293 smokers abstinent for between 1 and 4 weeks, 33% reported having at least 1 dream about smoking. In most dreams, subjects caught themselves smoking and felt strong negative emotions, such as panic and guilt. Dreams about smoking were the result of tobacco withdrawal, as 97% of subjects did not have them while smoking, and their occurrence was significantly related to the duration of abstinence. They were rated as more vivid than the usual dreams and were as common as most major tobacco withdrawal symptoms.


External Stimuli Invade our Dreams

This is called Dream Incorporation and it is the experience that most of us have had where a sound from reality is heard in our dream and incorporated in some way. A similar (though less external) example would be when you are physically thirsty and your mind incorporates that feeling in to your dream. My own experience of this includes repeatedly drinking a large glass of water in the dream which satisfies me, only to find the thirst returning shortly after - this thirst drink thirst loop often recurs until I wake up and have a real drink. The famous painting above (Dream Caused by the Flight of a Bee around a Pomegranate a Second Before Awakening) by Salvador Dali, depicts this concept.


You are paralyzed while you sleep

Believe it or not, your body is virtually paralyzed during your sleep - most likely to prevent your body from acting out aspects of your dreams. According to the Wikipedia article on dreaming, Glands begin to secrete a hormone that helps induce sleep and neurons send signals to the spinal cord which cause the body to relax and later become essentially paralyzed.

Presented at the 3d International Biennial of Contemporary Art in the Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo (CAAC) in Seville (SPAIN). The installation 'bios [bible]' consists of an industrial robot, which writes down the bible on rolls of paper. The machine draws the calligraphic lines with high precision. Like a monk in the scriptorium it creates step by step the text.Starting with the old testament and the books of Moses ‘bios [bible]’ produces within seven month continuously the whole book. All 66 books of the bible are written on rolls and then retained and presented in the library of the installation.‘bios [bible]’ is focussing on the questions of faith and technical progress. 7 Ways To Make A Good Impression

Impressions are important: They leave an initial taste in people's mouths that can remain prevalent for the entire relationship. If you are paranoid about what kind of impression you make, run through these seven list items and see if you are consistent with them; if you are, then you will probably expose the best of yourself. If not, then work to meet these standards.

1. Dress: The absolute first impression you will make on someone will be through your clothing, because that is what is seen from a distance, and cannot change throughout your meeting. Make sure to dress according to the situation-don't over or under dress-and maintain within the limits of good taste. If you aren't sure if what you're wearing looks good, ask people for an honest opinion. One last thought: always, and I mean always, pull up your pants

2. Hygiene: Take a shower! Shave! Brush your teeth! You must be fully bathed and groomed before you meet with someone for the first time, because scruffy looking people generally don't seem as neat and mature. Pay attention to the little elements like breath: keep a pack of mint gum with you wherever you go, and periodically check to make sure you aren't killing bugs every time you breathe out. If you sweat heavily, keep a small stick of deodorant/anti-perspirant close, and if you notice you're stinking you can freshen up. People notice the minutiae!

3. Manners: At the table and with other people be civilized, polite and respectful: keep your elbows off of the table, open doors for people and address everyone-initially, at least-by their formal title. This will make an especially good impression on senior citizens, because you will prove that you aren't one of those "new fangled punks."

4. Speech: Have clean, clear diction and speak sans "like" or "you know." It is important to be articulate because that inspires a feeling of intelligence and education in the person you are meeting with. Always leave out profanity, and whatever you do, make sure to speak loud enough for all to hear, because conversationalists are easily agitated if you force them say "excuse me?" more than a few times.

5. Discretion: Choose what to share about yourself: forget to tell everyone about that time you went camping and ruptured your appendix, then fell face first into a pile of bug infested leaves-it is rude and will alienate you from the group. Try to withhold from conversations on personal subjects like religion or more disgusting topics like personal medical care. Before you speak, think about the possible impact of what you might say, then imagine its implications in the long run.

6. Humor: Humor can be your most powerful tool or your doom, because everyone has a slightly different sense of humor. What might be hilarious to you might seem disgusting to another, or vice versa. Try to withhold from any jokes that aren't family or dinner table friendly; you can tell those later.

7. Start and End with a Bang: Whoever you are meeting with will remember how you greet them, and then in what manner you left them. If you feel you have trouble with this, practice a few different phrases in the mirror, and introduce elements like: "pleased to meet you," or "honored to make your acquaintance." Ignore the antiquity of these phrases; it often makes them more memorable.

Making a good impression will set any relationship off on a good foot. If you are in a situation where you need to be judged at face value-such as a job interview or date-then make sure to go through this list and make sure you are within bounds of reason and good taste on all of your decisions.

during its last mission, on a cloudless day.
The picture is of Europe and Africa when the sun is setting.
Half of the picture is in night. The bright dots you see are the cities' lights.

The top part of Africa is the Sahara Desert .

Note that the lights are already on in Holland , Paris , and Barcelona,
and that's it's still daylight in Dublin , London , Lisbon , and Madrid .

The sun is still shining on the Strait of Gibraltar . The Mediterranean Sea is
already in darkness.

In the middle of the Atlantic Ocean you can see the Azores Islands;
below them to the right are the Madeira Islands ; a bit below are the
Canary Islands; and further South, close to the farthest western point
of Africa , are the Cape Verde Islands.

Note that the Sahara is huge and can be seen clearly both during
day time and night time

To the left on top,is Greenland,totally frozen.

Battery-Electric Bus

The Solo EV is not a big bus: It is available in lengths of 8.1m, 8.8m and 9.5m and widths of either 2.3m or 2.5m.

"Replacing the usual diesel engine is an all-new electric drive, featuring an Enova Systems P120 AC induction motor rated at 120 kW and powered by two banks of Valence Lithium Ion Phosphate batteries. The two packs work in parallel and provide 307V with a total capacity of 80 kWh. The batteries are housed in two steel crates set either side of the centrally mounted motor for excellent weight distribution."

Vehicle top speed is limited to 90 km/h (56 mph). This seems quite enough for urban use, though there's no technical reason why faster speeds couldn't be possible. It's probably just to avoid draining the batteries too quickly.

The Solo EV has regenerative braking, which helps recharge the battery but also means that brakes need to be changed less often (something important on a bus that does stop & go driving all day).

One problem on the horizon: The batteries take 8 hours to charge. Now this might not be a problem if the range of the Solo EV is long enough to do a full day without needed a recharge.

The company said that it is looking into adding a third battery to extend the range, so maybe that would be a solution. Or maybe a fast charging station could cut the charging time significantly and the Solo EV could be topped off a few times each day, and then have a full charge at night.
