SRM Engineering Entrance Exam(SRMEEE) is conducted each year by SRM University for admission to its B.Tech course. SRM university started from SRM Engineering College established in 1985. In 2006 it got recognised as full fledged university by University Grants Commission. SRM University is considered to be among the best institutes in India engineering education. It frequently features in the top colleges for engineering in India lists released by reliable surveys.
SRM has sprawling campus for engineering in Kattankulathur, Chennai with lots of greenery. SRM provides its students with best of facilities, faculty, infrastructure and placement opportunities. Every year a large number of students apply for B.Tech in SRM University and the competition is quite tough.
Eligibility criteria:
A candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination. Those who are appearing for class 12th exams in 2010 can also apply.
Candidates should have scored atleast 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathemetics in class 12th for all engineering courses except B.Tech in biotechnology, bioinformatics, biomedical engineering, bio process engineering, food process engineering and genetic engineering. For these courses candidates should have scored atleast 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in class 12th.
Availability of Application forms for SRMEEE 2010:
The forms for SRMEEE are expected to be available by January end in selected branches of State Bank of India, Indian Bank, City Union Bank Limited, Karur Vysya Bank Limited and post offices and also from the university campus. The form can also be obtained by post from SRM University by sending a Demand Draft along with the request for form. Candidates can also apply online or download the form through the university website:www.srmuniv.ac.in.
Important Dates(Tentative):
Date of Entrance Examination: May 1st week, 2010
Availability of Application Forms: From January end, 2010
Last Date for receipt of completed application forms: April 1st week, 2010

Pattern of Examination:
The paper will be of 2 and a half hours duration having objective questions from the following subjects:.
Physics-35 questions for a total of 105 marks
Chemistry-35 questions for a total of 105 marks
Mathematics-35 questions for a total of 105 marks
Biology-50 questions for a total of 105 marks.
All candidates have to attempt Physics and Chemistry sections. Candidates have to attempt Mathematics for all courses except the bio-engineering courses for which they have to attempt biology section. Each of the questions will have four options. There will be negative marking for an incorrect answer of 1/3rd of the total marks allotted to each question.
