CMC-Medical PG 2010

CMC PG is an entrance examination for admission to various postgraduate medical degrees like MD and MS in Christian Medical College(CMC), Vellore. CMC is one of the most popular institutes in India for medical education. Admission in CMC is considered to be really tough. Every year a large number of students appear for CMC PG to get admission in various MD and MS programmes of CMC.

Christian Medical College has many milestones associated with it. It started in 1900 as a single bed dispensary and subsequently grew to be one of the leading medical and health care centres and institutes in India. CMC provides postgraduation degrees in 22 fields. For all these courses candidates have a common entrance test. The candidates who clear the written test are called for interviews depednding on which the final selections are made.

Eligibility criteria:
To apply for CMC PG a candidate must have done MBBS from a institute recognised by Indian Medical Council. The candidates who will complete their internship before 15th May, 2010 can also apply.

Application Forms Availability for CMC PG 2010

Application forms for CMC PG are expected to be available in ICICI bank branches across India. The forms can also be obtained by sending a request for the form to the registrar office, CMC. There is also facility for online application where a candidate can fill the form online and send the printed copy to CMC through the website home.cmcvellore.ac.in/admissions.

Important dates:
Date of Entrance Examination: December 2nd week, 2009
Last date for receipt of completed application forms: November 1st week, 2009
Declaration of results for written exam: December 3rd week, 2009
Interviews of the selected candidates: January 1st week, 2010

Examination pattern and syllabus:
The entrance test will be of two types:
Paper 1(General Paper) will have MCQs from entire MBBS Syllabus
Paper 2(Special paper) will also have MCQs from the subject of specialization candidates have chosen.
Candidates can either give General Paper or Special paper for a particular specialisation.
