This is a sample interview for Accenture campus placements. It will help you get an idea about the questions you can get and also how to carry on a conversation.
interviewer: so what is your favorite subject?
candidate: sir though I like microprocessors, these days i am all gaga over artificial intelligence(this was a gamble because nobody says AI .. people say c/c++/microprocessor .. but the gamble worked because he was impressed ..and please say only the subject you are very thorough with .. like i am very comfortable with AI/micro/c/c++)
interviewer: so what is AI all about?
candidate: i explained all about reasoning and knowledge representation .. hard and soft AI .. dempster sheffer theory and bayes theory
interviewer: so can we shift to c and c++?
candidate: sure sir
interviewer: what are global and local variables?
candidate: local variables are only valid within the delimiters within which they are declared. global variables are accessible to all function below which the above which the global variable has been declared.
interviewer: what is a macro?
candidate: i explained
interviewer: what is a router?
candidate: i explained
interviewer: how does a router select the shortest path of communication?
candidate: its an intelligent device and has a router algorithm in it which selects the shortest path.
interviewer: what is the difference between circuit switching and packet switching?
candidate: i couldn’t recollect so i told him don’t remember .. he moved on with a smile
interviewer asked me to write a program in assembly language to find the factorial of a number
candidate: that is tough .. but i did it never the less …he was impressed.
interviewer: write a program in c to accept names and roll numbers of students as long as the user wants
candidate: the catch here is “as long as the user wants” .. initially i did it for 50 loops … then he asked me the mistake and i told him its not indefinite .. then he asked me to correct it .. i did it using malloc ..
interviewer: is there anything else you want to ask us?
candidate:is there anything i need to do since i am from electronics and communication so i am not at par wid computer science guys
interviewer: i am impressed. nice question. you study dbms/rdbms/java and get acquainted with oracle 10g
candidate: thanks sir goodnight
